Property Description

On the West shore (best shore) of Lake Tahoe, May Ah Mee Lodge opens up to magnificent lake and mountain views from every room. Enjoy brilliant sky, deep turquoise waters with private beach, and pier. Quiet, private grounds on beautiful Sugar Pine Point are the setting for this historic early 1900’s Lodge.

The original owner’s stone cabin, part of the Old May Ah Mee Lodge is the core of the new May Ah Mee. The old lodge hosted Aimee Semple Mc Pherson and numerous other luminaries in the teens and 1920s.

Spectacular from sunrise to sunset, this lovely home provides two stone fireplaces and many secluded spaces to capture private moments. It offers unique ambiance blending Old Tahoe style with up-to-date comforts. Three decks expand spacious easy living.

A large private pier and buoy make boating easy and convenient. When the lake level is low, a sandy beach extends your area for play. Enjoy a sunset BBQ on the lakeside stone patio. Catch crawdads off the pier.

For generations, this has been the site of wonderful family gatherings. Guests treasure the variety of choices. Basking in the sun on the pier, napping in the hammock in the shade, curling up in a cozy reading corner overlooking the magnificent lake, fishing off the pier, waterskiing, or kayaking all create “vacation.”

This home is for discerning guests who will appreciate both its spaciousness and coziness. The “new” May Ah Mee Lodge was built with modern amenities for your comfort. The house is fully equipped for gracious living. The property is accessed via a quiet road off Hwy 89.

Within easy walking distance, you will find Tahoma market with its exceptional deli, groceries & wine selection. With restaurants, coffee bar, post office, kayak rentals nearby, you may never need to get into your car.

Visit nearby Emerald Bay State Park with beaches, and national forest, Desolation Wilderness. Or, hike and bike on trails leading to Sugar Pine Point. A meandering paved bike path makes its way along the shore to Tahoe City, down the Truckee River all the way to Squaw Valley.

The variety of things to see and do is limitless at May Ah Mee, where you enjoy the best that the West shore has to offer.

Guest Book

Large, lakefront home with own pier, buoy and beach. Several separate living areas for several families or different age groups. Home is always clean and comfortable. Nice private location near Tahoma, Homewood, Sunnyside and Tahoe city. We have come to Tahoe for almost 40 years in the summer and have stayed here the last 10 years - we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

We have awesome family memories of our visits to this place through the years. Hanging out on the dock after a barbecue and soaking in the view is just paradise. The location just can't be better. As for the accommodations, it's a perfect balance of modern conveniences, creature comforts and rustic mountain living. The stone cottage is a throwback to the 1950s that puts a smile on your face as soon as you step in. All the other rooms are up to date and super comfortable. On the whole, it's one of our favorite places on earth. Highly recommended.

We loved the lakefront location, private pier and all of the bedrooms. It is comfortable living and in immaculate condition. Located in Tahoma, on the West Shore, it's about 15 minutes from Tahoe City. If you vacation at Tahoe you have to be right on the lake!

This is an absolutely beautiful property, right on the shores of Lake Tahoe! Perfect for the enjoyment of year round activities! Wonderful for family reunions, as it accommodates many for sleeping. We were here in October of 2011. We went bicycling, saw fish spawning, went on beautiful hikes- all in all a wonderful experience!! We will definitely stay at this property again!!!

This rental is really nice, on the Lake and private, private, private! We had a great vacation, took advantage of the many things to do around the home without having to get in a car. Boating, hiking, fishing, biking. We did it all. The home is well maintained and comfortable with lots of niceties. Roomy and the kids had great areas to play without having to be under their parents feet. A true vacation for us all.
